Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join the NUPAS team on a full-time permanent basis

The Management Accountant willprimarily be responsible for month end process and reporting. This role will alsoprovide financial management support for budget holders and support costing andfinancial planning for NUPAS by working closely with internal and external key stakeholders in a dynamic environment

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated management accountant who has exceptional experience in excel and data analysis skills, confident ledger user, written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance colleagues, ability to build effective, respectful working relationships with others providing and receiving feedback and being responsive to change, organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in an uncertain, complex and fast-paced environment with frequently changing demands

The successful candidate will be educated to CCAB qualified accountant or CCAB finalist with target date of completion

Main duties of the job

Finance -

  • Responsible for month end process including posting journals to ledger, prepare variance analysis for month end position review after soft close
  • Prepare monthly regional finance reports, meet and discuss report with budget holders
  • Support in costing, forecasting and financial planning
  • Work together with Finance Manager and Head of Finance for any audit request from external auditor
  • Provide financial management support to budget holders raise financial awareness, gain good understanding of their budget performance including driver of variances
  • Champion value for money and support in continuous improvement of efficiency across the organisation
  • Engagement in continuous improvement for processes and cross cover duties with other team members when required
  • Accuracy in reporting, efficiency in processes and good relationship with key stakeholders
  • To undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the post and/or that are deemed to be within your capabilities.
  • Delivery of maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • To work in harmony with all other team members including team members in different regional groups and to communicate in an open and courteous manner with colleagues, clients, visitors, referring agencies and contractors.
  • Promotion of a supportive and friendly working environment.
  • Support a woman's right to request an abortion within UK legal framework.
  • Non judgmental attitude.
  • To maintain and improve standards of work through the undertaking of training, attending courses and keeping up to date with technical information.

About us

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • CCAB finalist with target date of completion
  • Continuing Professional Development

Desirable

  • CCAB Qualified Accountant

Experience

  • Significant experience in month end process and reporting
  • Adequate experience in financial management with budget holders
  • Adequate experience in costing and forecasting

Desirable

  • Experience in finance business partnering
  • Experience in healthcare finance

Skills and Knowledge

  • Exceptional excel and data analysis skills
