The role
This is a hands-on controller role at the heart of the prep centre. You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, keeping jobs moving, technicians on track, and vehicles prepped to a high standard. You’ll report directly to the management team and be the key link between the workshop, service advisors, parts, and the warranty department.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee daily workshop operations to keep throughput efficient and on time
- Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill set and availability
- Monitor job progress and step in where needed to keep things on track
- Liaise with service advisors and parts to streamline workflow across departments
- Support the warranty department with technical advice and diagnosis
- Speak with customers on post-delivery issues when required
- Uphold health and safety standards throughout the workshop
What you’ll bring
Essential:
- Proven background as a Workshop Controller or in a similar supervisory role
- Solid technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
- Experience allocating and managing workloads across a team of technicians
- Ability to manage competing priorities and keep calm under pressure
