POSITION OVERVIEW

Numisma Bank is seeking a highly motivated Associate Trader with Russian language capabilities to support and execute trading activities across FX and physical currency markets. This is a dynamic, front-office role with exposure to trading, client interaction, and operational execution. The successful candidate will work closely with senior traders and leadership, supporting the execution of trades, managing client relationships (particularly with Russian-speaking counterparties), and contributing to the growth of the bank’s international trading franchise. This role provides a strong foundation in global currency markets, with an emphasis on emerging markets, cross-border transactions, and physical currency flows, particularly within Russian-speaking regions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the execution of FX spot, forwards, and physical currency trades, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Monitor market conditions, pricing, and liquidity across relevant currency pairs.
  • Support senior traders in managing risk, positions, and market exposure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Russian-speaking clients, counterparties, and financial institutions.
  • Communicate market insights, trade ideas, and execution updates internally and externally.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth settlement and delivery of physical currency transactions.
  • Conduct market research and data analysis to support trading strategies and business development.
  • Contribute to process improvements and the development of trading infrastructure.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a top-tier institution (Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in FX trading, sales & trading, or a related financial markets role.
  • Fluency in Russian and English (both written and spoken) is required.
  • Strong understanding of global FX markets; familiarity with emerging markets is a plus.
  • Proven interest in financial markets, trading strategies, and macroeconomic trends.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across CIS, the Middle East, Africa and other priority markets.
