Overview
You'll own quality engineering at Numiko, setting the strategy, building the automation framework, and acting as the most trusted QA voice across our Drupal‑powered client projects for universities, museums, and charities and more.

- Core Responsibilities & Skills
- Hands‑on Playwright experience
- page object models, fixtures, parallel execution, trace‑based debugging. (Essential)
- Automation framework design
- building from scratch, test data strategies, environment configuration, retry and reporting patterns. (Essential)
- CI/CD & Tooling
- Configure automated test execution and quality gating within CI/CD pipelines. (Essential)
- Read and contribute to pipeline configuration written by others. (Essential)
- Familiarity with test reporting tools such as Allure or Playwright HTML reporter. (Desirable)
- Version control
- Git, branching strategies, pull request workflows, synchronising test code with feature development. (Essential)
- Comfortable using AI tooling for code generation, test authoring, and defect triage, writing effective prompts and exercising critical judgment. (Essential)
- Backend & CMS Knowledge
- Familiar with Drupal or equivalent CMS – content types, views, user roles, permissions, and caching, to write tests that reflect real behaviour. (Desirable)
- Working knowledge of PHP to read and understand code under test. (Desirable)
- Experience testing RESTful APIs, including authentication flows and session handling. (Essential)
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Proficient in Jira or similar for issue tracking, workflow management, bug reporting, and testing progress communication. (Essential)
- Write and maintain clear, concise documentation to help developers, PMs, clients, and future team members. (Essential)
- Strong manual testing skills – exploratory testing, regression testing, validating complex user journeys alongside automated coverage. (Essential)
- Accessibility & Standards
- Understand WCAG 2.2 AA standards and test for compliance using automated tools and manual techniques. (Essential)
- Leadership & Process
- Senior SDET or QA lead experience, owning a testing discipline rather than contributing. (Essential)
- Define and communicate a quality strategy – test plans, coverage standards, risk‑based prioritisation across projects. (Essential)
- Nice to haves
- Performance testing experience (k6, Lighthouse CI) or automated accessibility tooling (axe‑core, Pa11y).
- Security testing experience.
- Agency or consultancy background.
- ISTQB Advanced certification.
