Prove digital works, and make it work harder. Two questions, one job: How do people find our clients, and what do they do when they get there?

Overview: We build websites for some of the UK's best-known universities, museums, charities and public bodies. Clients like the University of Oxford, Kingston University, the British Museum, the Wallace Collection, Comic Relief, Chatham House and the Electoral Commission. Those sites reach millions of people. This is the role that shows whether they're working, and then helps make them work harder.

You'll own the data across a varied portfolio: digging into how people use the sites we build, keeping the tracking sound, and turning what the numbers show into recommendations that lead to real improvements. You'll also lead Findability, a service we've recently launched. We see findability and performance as two sides of the same coin, how people find a site and what they do once they're on it, and this is the role that joins them up. You'll sit in our Design & UX team and work right across the agency.

Two things make this different from most agency analytics jobs:

  • The first is that we want you to automate the routine parts of it. We produce a lot of regular reporting by hand, and we don't think the number-gathering should need a person. Your job is to work out which parts, build that, and free your own time up.
  • The second is what you do with the time you free. As people increasingly get answers from AI rather than a list of links, findability has become one of the questions our clients most want help with. That's where your freed capacity goes: growing the Findability service and advising clients on SEO and GEO, rather than assembling another quarterly deck by hand.

Your success is measured by what changed because of your insight, and what it was worth to the client. Not by how many reports you produced.

Expert: You're the trusted domain expert on performance and findability, and you share that expertise freely. You're credible in the room with clients who have their own analytics teams.

Inquisitive: You're not satisfied with what the numbers say, you want to know why. You ask good questions, follow the thread, and challenge assumptions, including ours.

Impatient with repetition: You find doing the same manual task twice slightly offensive, and you do something about it. Given a choice between running a report and building the thing that runs it, you build the thing.

Communicative: You're articulate, personable and persuasive, with real gravitas, and you can speak with authority to senior client contacts. You turn complex data into a simple, honest story people can act on, whether or not they're technical. You're responsive, so people get an answer quickly.

Proactive and helpful: You've got a can-do attitude. You're approachable and easy to ask for help, you offer things before you're asked, and you're willing to learn the parts of the job you haven't done before.

Commercially minded: You understand how insight leads to better work and more of it. You can show a client the return on what we do together, and spot where we could add more value.

Resilient: You're calm under pressure and you hold your position when the data supports it, including when a client would rather hear something else.

Which one are you? We don't expect one person to arrive fully formed in both halves of this job. Read the two routes in at the end, and tell us which one you are.

Analytics and measurement: Senior-level digital analytics experience with hands-on GA4 and Google Tag Manager: setup, configuration and troubleshooting, not just reading dashboards. (Essential) Comfortable maintaining complex existing tracking setups as sites change, not just building new ones. (Essential) Performance reporting and dashboarding, including Looker Studio. (Essential) The ability to interpret data and tell a clear story with it to people who aren't technical. (Essential) Comfortable pulling together messy, multi-source data, including where there's no clean CRM or single source of truth. (Essential) Behavioural analytics tools such as heatmaps and scroll-depth analysis. (Desirable)

Automation and tooling: A genuine appetite for automating your own routine work, and a track record of having done it. (Essential) Uses AI tooling confidently as part of day-to-day work, and is critical enough to know when to trust its output and when to override it. (Essential) Experience building scheduled or automated reporting that other people went on to rely on. (Desirable) Comfortable working with APIs, scripts or no-code tools to move data around. (Desirable)

Findability, SEO and GEO: Working knowledge of SEO, enough to factor search into measurement and to read findability data with confidence. (Essential) A real interest in GEO and AI search visibility, and a view on where it's going. (Essential) Appetite for leading a service rather than delivering to a brief: shaping what it includes, how we talk about it, and how it grows. (Essential) Hands-on technical SEO experience: audits, site structure, indexation, performance. (Desirable) Experience advising clients or colleagues on search strategy rather than only delivering against it. (Desirable)

Consulting and working with clients: Confident working directly with clients: running reviews, delivering training, and advising beyond the brief. (Essential) Happy fielding the questions that arrive between reviews, from open-ended ('why has this dropped?') to specific ('can you check our Google Analytics setup?'). (Essential) Confident context-switching across many concurrent accounts, mostly on support retainers, alongside a few larger build projects. (Essential) Agency or consultancy background. (Desirable) Experience with, or genuine interest in, the higher education, cultural, charity or public sectors. (Desirable)

Two routes in: We're open to either starting point, and we'll build the other side with you: Analytics-first: deep GA4 and GTM, reporting and dashboarding, CRO. You understand search well enough to factor it into measurement, and you want to grow into the advisory side of findability. Findability-first: strong technical SEO and a real grasp of GEO and AI search visibility, with genuine GA4 and GTM depth alongside it. You want to grow into the wider performance and CRO side. We're more interested in depth in one half plus real appetite for the other than in a thin spread across both.

Nice to haves: Let us know if you have any of the following, but they're not essential: Hands-on experience with privacy-first analytics tools such as Plausible. Experience running a platform migration. Understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and why they matter to the work we do.

Our values: We do the right thing. We act with trustworthiness, understanding and empathy with each other and our clients. We work smart and simplify. We like simple, elegant solutions to problems. Our processes make it easy to get work done and easy for our clients to work with us. We are guides for our clients. We show our clients the way, providing clear, concise and confident explanations and advice. We have a can-do attitude. We take responsibility for our work, both individually and as a company. We have fun. Having fun is an essential part of working at Numiko. We develop great relationships with our clients and each other.

Our offer: With a yearly performance-based bonus. 30 days holiday, a generous holiday entitlement, including your birthday off. We like a healthy work/life balance, so ask people to be in the office at least two days a week. The numikon fund: Your own yearly budget for personal development or just for nice things to improve your working life.
