Principal Product Manager (AI-native B2B) | Customer & UX / Discovery
A senior individual-contributor seat. Own the product, build it, ship it, prove it.
We are a well-backed, AI-native B2B software company in London with a clear line to profitability, and we move fast. We are hiring a senior product builder to own a core product surface end to end, from customer discovery to shipped product, and get it into customers' hands in weeks, not quarters. This seat is weighted to customer discovery and UX. You stay hands-on, you build and ship, and you run a forward-deployed way of working.
This is a senior builder role, not a management track. You own the strategy, the build and the outcome for a significant part of the product, and you stay hands-on. You will have the remit and influence of a leader without the org chart, because you own enough to be in the room where the decisions are made.
You will work close to the customer. You sit with them, dig into the problem yourself, and prove value in weeks rather than planning it in quarters.
You've built in a startup or scale-up. This one is not negotiable. You have built inside an early-stage startup or scale-up, and you thrive at that pace. It is not a fit for enterprise-only or big-company-only backgrounds, however senior. If you loved the speed, autonomy and ownership of a high-growth environment, without the stick-only culture that too often comes with it, you will recognise how we work.
How you think. See an obstacle, remove it. You do not wait for alignment, you build. You are as comfortable taking direction in a lean team as giving it, and you roll your sleeves up on the unglamorous work.
How we build. You build in a two-person team, one product manager and one engineer, around a real customer problem, on short build-and-ship cycles. You carry a broad remit and can run more than one build at a time. You set direction, shape the product, and take it from a real customer problem to a shipped, validated, revenue-generating outcome. Our engineers own the infrastructure. Your job is to understand the customer deeply and turn genuinely hard technical work into a product people actually want to use. It is some of the most interesting building you will do.
What you will own
Deep customer discovery, real time with real customers, understanding the problem first-hand, then turning what you learn into product with a strong UX. Ownership of the strategy, build and commercial outcome for a core product surface, end to end. A broad remit across several teams, not a single narrow lane. Shipping and validating with real customers on a fast, monthly cadence. Carrying a capability from concept to production and on to revenue. Setting the standard for how the team uses AI to design and ship product. Bringing enterprise stakeholders through fast change without needing air cover.
What we are looking for
A genuine product builder. You get to the real problem by talking to customers, and you turn it into a product people actually use. You live in the customer's problem: you run discovery constantly, get to the real problem first-hand, and turn it into a product with strong UX. You take your own work all the way to a pull request an engineer can review and merge with few changes. You use AI natively to design, prototype and ship, and you build, not just spec. This is not an infrastructure or platform PM role; our engineers own the plumbing, and your value is understanding the customer and shaping the product. We want exceptional customer-discovery and UX instinct, and proof you have taken products zero-to-one into production and to revenue, evidence not narrative. Someone who wants to stay a hands-on senior IC with real remit rather than run a team. The judgement to earn trust fast and influence without authority. B2B experience preferred, with exceptional B2C builders considered where they show enterprise-grade thinking.
Years of experience are not our filter. The right experiences are. We are open to experienced product leaders who want to step back into building, as long as the startup pace described above is genuinely where you do your best work.
How we work. Flat, lean, AI-native, high trust. Small teams, short build-and-ship cycles, real customer contact, decisions made in the room. Three days a week in the London office.
What this role is not. It is not a stepping stone to managing a team. You will be paid and elevated for building, with room to stretch for the right person, plus meaningful equity.
Process. Four stages. First, a 45-minute conversation with our VP of Product. Then a 90-minute live working session with the VP and a co-founder, where you build with us real time. Then take home your feature and build upon it, to present to the CEO for final stage. You are encouraged to use AI tools throughout, and you are assessed on your reasoning and the outcome, not the volume of output.
Comp. Base to Β£150,000+, with room to stretch for the right person, plus equity and benefits.
Location. Hybrid, London, 3 days per week.
