A pioneering technology company supporting energy-intensive and mission-critical operations is seeking a strategic and hands-on technology leader to join their Executive Leadership Team as Chief Technology Officer. The incoming CTO will define how the product vision is delivered at scale, with resilience, repeatability, and architectural clarity.
This role carries full accountability for technology strategy, engineering execution, and driving the ambition to scale from early revenue toward £50m+.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and execute the technology strategy, architecture, and engineering vision across OT and IT domains.
- Architect scalable, repeatable deployment models capable of supporting significant commercial growth.
- Navigate and modernize existing infrastructure, resolving technical debt across AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker environments.
- Deploy AI and distributed systems into real-world operational environments.
- Drive the technical transition toward more agentic AI and autonomous optimization capabilities.
- Strengthen internal engineering discipline and processes as the business matures.
- Remain hands-on with system design and coding when required.

- Proven track record of scaling a technology business from early revenue toward £30m+.
- Experience operating within organizations of fewer than 50 people during a scale phase.
- Built architecture capable of supporting repeatable deployment.
- Deployed AI or distributed systems into real-world operational or industrial environments.
- Ability and willingness to remain hands-on when required.

- Experience operating across both Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) domains.
- Familiarity with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS infrastructure.
- Prior experience building or scaling products for data centers or mission-critical industrial sectors.
