numi is partnering with a global, technology-driven financial services organisation to find an exceptional Director of Software Engineering to head up a major engineering function in London.
In this role, you will lead a large-scale department of over 80+ technologists (Software Engineers and Architects). Act as a key voice in technical design reviews, ensuring a clear and consistent approach to engineering practices.
Liaise with and manage senior enterprise stakeholders (primarily US-based) to provide clear cost/risk trade-offs and paths forward.
A clear track record of managing and scaling large software engineering teams and driving high performance.
Technical Credibility: Real-world experience with modern architectures, specifically native developments within AWS. A strong understanding of the latest cybersecurity trends and how they impact software engineering practices. Prior experience in the UK/US regulatory, consumer lending, or broader financial technology landscapes is highly preferred.
This is a permanent, hybrid role based in Central London. You will be working from a state-of-the-art office 3 days a week to foster collaboration and team connection.
