As Senior Delivery Lead (Platform), you will join one of the UKβs most successful high-growth fintechs, building purpose-led payments infrastructure for in-person commerce. In a short space of time, they have disrupted the market to process billions in transactions annually for hundreds of thousands of customers.
As Senior Delivery Lead joining Platform team, you will join the engine room responsible for the centralised infrastructure that powers the entire engineering organisation.
The Role
You will be the master of execution for the Platform Engineering function. While the Lead Product Manager defines what they build, you will define how they deliver it. Sitting within the Platform team, you will act as a strategic peer to the Lead PM, Heads of Engineering, and Senior Staff Engineers. Your mission is to drive the adoption of centralised infrastructure across an organisation of 300+ engineers. You won't just be tracking tickets; you will be unblocking teams, managing complex cross-team dependencies, and ensuring that our ambitious roadmap translates into predictable, high-quality delivery. This is a critical, high-performing Individual Contributor (IC) role. We arenβt looking for someone to fill spreadsheets; we need a relentless un-blocker who uses a "pull" approach to help product teams adopt new platform capabilities.
What You Will Do
- Own the Delivery Lifecycle: You will manage the end-to-end delivery for three critical infrastructure squads. You are responsible for cadence, predictability, and ensuring they hit their deadlines.
- Drive Cloud Migrations & Adoption: You will lead the "how" behind complex migrations. You will work with external product teams to understand their capacity, help them plan, and remove the friction associated with moving from legacy/on-prem systems to centralised cloud infrastructure.
- Master Dependency Management: You will proactively identify and mitigate risks, specifically focusing on dependencies between the Platform team and the wider engineering organisation.
- Stakeholder Leadership: You will provide clear updates to senior leadership (up to VP level) and manage expectations across the business. You will be the bridge between technical complexity and business outcomes.
- Culture & Change: You will drive a culture of collaboration and context-building, helping to transform teams to new ways of working without relying on top-down mandates.
What You Bring
- Deep Technical Fluency: You have 5β6+ years of delivery or program management experience, specifically within Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or Technical Transformation environments. You understand the difference between on-prem and cloud, and you speak the language of engineers.
- Experience at Scale: You have worked in organisations with engineering teams of 300β350+ people (likely 1,000+ total headcount), navigating the complexity of internal stakeholders who have their own external customer pressures.
- A "Pull" Mindset: You don't rely on process for process's sake. You focus on unblocking teams and doing the "grunt work" necessary to facilitate delivery, rather than just enforcing administrative tasks.
- Complex Program Management: You have a track record of delivering large, ambiguous initiatives where you had to influence without authority and manage dependencies across multiple functions.
Titles We Look For: You might currently be a Technical Program Manager (TPM), Delivery Lead, or Transformation Lead in a tech-first environment.
The Details
- Office First: You will work from the London office 4+ days per week.
- Compensation: This role is graded as a senior IC (Level 6) with a base salary of Β£110kβΒ£130k (dependent on experience). Note that this role does not include a bonus or stock options.
