Senior Product Specialist, Market Data Procurement & Vendor Operations plays a key role owning vendor operations end-to-end, ensuring the quality, coverage, and cost-efficiency of the data that powers pricing models, risk calculations, and analytics workflows. Success in this role involves ensuring the NxDM data provider ecosystem is proactively maintained, grows as a strategic asset, coverage gaps are closed at source, provider contracts and licensing are managed with full visibility, and data entering the platform is evaluated for readiness to support quantitative finance and AI workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Vendor Operations (Primary Focus)
    • Own end-to-end execution of data vendor operations across all Numerix vendors, including Numerix, FINCAD, PolyPaths, Kynex, and future acquisitions.
    • Maintain full visibility of vendor contracts, including renewals, termination windows, pricing, and redistribution rights.
    • Prepare commercial groundwork for vendor negotiations (usage data, cost analysis, contract review, renewal briefs); negotiations and signature led by senior leadership.
    • Run vendor audits end-to-end, coordinating entitlements, Legal, and vendor engagement.
    • Manage licensing compliance, usage monitoring, audit readiness, vendor onboarding, and invoice discrepancies.
    • Maintain a single, consolidated view of total data vendor spend and justification.
    • Identify vendor overlap and rationalization opportunities, including duplicate coverage and consolidation options.
  • NxDM Data Procurement Domain Ownership
    • Maintain a living view of NxDM data coverage (vendors, asset classes, instruments, feeds, depth).
    • Act as the fastest reference for: “Do we have this data, and if not, how do we get it?”
    • Drive resolution of recurring data quality or coverage issues that stall in vendor support by engaging provider product teams directly and pushing for structural fixes at the source.
    • Evaluate vendor capabilities for new clients, prospects, or asset class requirements.
    • Work with NxDM’s quantitative and domain specialists to validate fit, including readiness for quantitative finance and AI-driven workflows.
    • Own the internal data procurement roadmap (coverage gaps, feed onboarding, vendor changes, new evaluations).
    • Translate vendor platform changes into NxDM impact assessments and sprint-ready inputs.
  • PreSales & Internal Enablement
    • Support PreSales and Professional Services with licensing, redistribution, coverage, and cost questions.
    • Handle straightforward cross-product data requests where processing is minimal.
    • Provide a regular vendor summary for Product and Finance covering spend, renewals, compliance, audits, and rationalization.
  • Cross-Product Collaboration
    • Partner with other Product Managers on vendor licensing and contract questions related to their data sources.
    • Vendor rationalization across products.
    • New vendor onboarding where the PM defines the need and this role executes.

Qualifications

  • 5‑8 years of experience in capital markets technology, market data, or financial services, with direct exposure to how market data flows into pricing, risk, or trading workflows.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or finance-related discipline (Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field). A postgraduate degree is valued but not required.
  • Experience working with market data providers such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv/LSEG, ICE, S&P Global, FactSet, or similar, in a product, data management, partnerships, or technical capacity. Experience on the provider side is a strong advantage.
  • Capital markets fluency: you understand what an interest rate swap curve is, why a volatility surface matters, and what data completeness means in a regulatory context.
  • You do not need to be a quant, but you need enough domain knowledge to hold credible conversations with provider product teams and internal quantitative specialists.
  • Familiarity with data provider contract lifecycle management, licensing models, redistribution and revenue-sharing agreements, and audit processes in a financial service or fintech context.
  • Product thinking: able to own a domain roadmap, write clear requirements, prioritise competing demands, and work with engineering teams on delivery.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex data quality, coverage, or licensing issues into clear, actionable assessments for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working across a wide range of stakeholders: provider product managers, account managers, salespeople, as well as internal engineering, pre-sales, finance, legal, and product teams.
  • Self‑motivated, execution‑oriented, and comfortable in environments where processes are still being built.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks or regulatory data requirements (e.g., BCBS 239) is a plus.
  • Awareness of how AI and machine learning are changing market data products and provider offerings is a plus.
