The predicted salary is between 18.9 - 23.1 £ per hour.

We are looking for an experienced and capable Truck Mechanic / HGV Technician to join a well-established and successful West London-based business operating its own commercial vehicle fleet. This is a permanent, long-term opportunity for a skilled mechanic who is confident working independently and takes pride in keeping vehicles safe, reliable and on the road.

The Role

You will be responsible for servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs across a fleet consisting mainly of Scania and Volvo vehicles. Your duties will include:

  • Routine servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Mechanical repairs and fault finding
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT
  • Diagnosing and rectifying defects
  • Welding and fabrication repairs where required
  • Attending breakdowns and carrying out roadside repairs
  • Maintaining vehicles to a high standard of safety and reliability

This is a varied role where you will be trusted to diagnose problems, make sensible decisions and get vehicles back into service efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in experienced HGV mechanics or technicians who:

  • Have good experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles
  • Are familiar with Scania and/or Volvo trucks
  • Have strong mechanical fault-finding ability
  • Understand MOT preparation and vehicle inspection requirements
  • Have good welding and fabrication skills
  • Are comfortable attending breakdowns when required
  • Can work effectively under their own initiative without constant supervision
  • Take pride in doing the job properly and maintaining high standards

A formal HGV qualification would be an advantage, but practical experience, ability and attitude are equally important.

Hours

Monday to Friday: 7.00am – 5.00pm
Saturday: 7.00am – 2.00pm
Monday to Friday is paid as 10 hours per day, including lunch breaks.

Pay & Package

£20.00 per hour basic rate
£30.00 per hour overtime rate

The package also includes:
