We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen operation within our stylish boutique hotel located in the Southside of Glasgow. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing restaurant service, events and seasonal outdoor dining.

Working closely with the General Manager, the successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a small kitchen team, ensuring consistently high standards across all food offerings including restaurant dining, private events and garden food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and develop a small kitchen team through hands-on management
  • Oversee all food preparation and service for:
    • Hotel restaurant
    • Private dining and banqueting events
    • Outdoor/garden food service
  • Manage and coordinate event bookings from a kitchen and operational perspective
  • Design seasonal menus with a focus on quality, presentation and profitability
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety and kitchen cleanliness
  • Control stock, ordering, GP margins and kitchen costs
  • Work collaboratively with front of house and management teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Ensure consistency and efficiency during busy service periods and events
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a hotel, premium restaurant or events venue
  • Strong banqueting and events experience is essential
  • Proven ability to lead a small team in a hands-on operational role
  • Experience managing multiple food outlets/service styles simultaneously
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of stock control, food cost management and kitchen administration
  • Passion for fresh, high-quality food and excellent customer experience
  • Flexible approach to working hours, mainly evenings and weekends
