Everything happens at our manufacturing site in Chard. We are one of the largest local employers, our business is booming with year-on-year growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Production Engineering Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, learning how to optimise production lines, maintain machinery, and support continuous improvement projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers while studying towards a recognised engineering qualification. This team plays a critical role in ensuring our production equipment is fully operational as well having major input into the new products Numatic produces. You will provide hands-on technical support and assist with assembly, installations, and commissioning of equipment, whilst you develop fault finding and programming and diagnostic skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and improvement of production equipment
- Support fault-finding and problem-solving activities
- Learn to analyse production data to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
- Work with cross-functional teams on quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
- Contribute fresh ideas to help us innovate and evolve our manufacturing operations
- Work closely with the Research and Development team on new product development
- Design and manufacturing jigs and fixtures
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- A keen interest in engineering and manufacturing
- Practical, hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to learn
- You should have, or expect to have, a minimum of 5 GCSEs with Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
- Ability to work well both in a team and independently

WHAT WE OFFER:

Starting salary will be £309 per week, for a Level 3 apprenticeship. The salary increases throughout your learning and experience on a yearly basis with college fees, transport, and reference books paid for.
