With products sold in over 90 countries, our 1200-strong team operates from an expanding 40-acre campus in Chard, Somerset near the Devon Dorset border, close to the stunning Jurassic coastline and countryside.

The Senior Global Systems Engineer will play a key role in supporting the Global Systems Manager to establish and operate a robust support structure that dovetails seamlessly with our central IT&DS team. To provide greater consistency and support, we are establishing a new Global Systems Support Team within our UK IT & Digital Services Department. The role will involve assessing existing systems, defining IT operating frameworks, and implementing best-practice and strategic solutions. This is a hands-on position, providing guidance and practical support to resolve technical challenges while helping deliver strategic projects that improve efficiency and align technology across the group.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven engineer and lead role in global systems and infrastructure management, with hands‑on delivery of multi‑site migrations/onboarding outside of the UK and provision of support services.
  • Excellent relationship and team management and strong communicator across all levels of the organisation.
  • Broad enterprise application delivery experience across all functional areas of the business including Sales, Finance, HR, and Warehousing such as CRM, ERP, WMS, HCM, eCommerce and Field Services.
  • Robust project delivery having delivered technical tasks from desktop and cloud provisioning, solution configuration and managing support.
  • Hands on technical skills across technical & cloud migrations, identity & collaboration, networking, endpoints and servers, cybersecurity, and data governance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contact point for all subsidiaries.
  • Support the setting up of new team ways of working and establish governance frameworks with UK and subsidiaries.
  • Support development and delivery of scalable methodology and toolkit for global assessment, delivery, and support.
  • Support the shaping of global principles, standards, and policies.
  • Assess subsidiary IT and map to corporate standards; identify gaps and risks and deploy prioritised remediations.
  • Deliver new strategic solutions, working with 3rd Party delivery teams to deliver best in class functional solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with key forums including Security and TDA to deliver scalable and supportable solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive technical & security due diligence of remote offices (infrastructure, identity, networks, endpoints, collaboration, security controls, and local vendor contracts).
  • Coordinate with UK to ensure required security baselines are applied (M365 security, endpoint hardening, identity protection, conditional access, patching).
  • Build and maintain a global onboarding toolkit (checklists, templates, scripts, dashboards).
  • Ensure full documentation and traceability for technical changes made.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline repetitive onboarding tasks.
  • Collaboration with all levels of the organisation to resolve prioritised issues & deputise for Global Systems Manager.

  • Occasional global travel to remote offices for assessments, stakeholder engagement, and cutovers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support multiple time zones.
