Founded in 2018, we’ve already grown to be a 300+ team distributed across the globe, united by a singular mission: empowering people to take control of their health. Numan is transforming health: we’ve built a cutting‑edge platform that integrates diagnostics, medication, supplements, digital programmes, and doctor consultations. Giving people the tools they need to maximise life. Backed by top‑tier investors, Numan is already having a positive impact on hundreds of thousands of patients here in the UK, and we want you to help us deliver this mission!

The role involves hiring a VP of People to lead our people function and help Numan scale with clarity, cohesion, and care. As Numan continues to scale rapidly, we are looking for a leader who can evolve our people function to match our growth. You will build the resilient systems necessary to support a larger, more complex organisation while fiercely protecting the agility, empathy, and distinct culture that makes Numan a special place to work. You will bring a clear strategic and commercial perspective into our people function, ensuring that as we grow, we remain a high‑performance, values‑led organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Strategy & Execution: translate Numan’s company strategy into a comprehensive people strategy; own the full people agenda, including Performance Management, Talent Acquisition, and People Operations.
  • Talent Acquisition Engine: build a best‑in‑class talent acquisition function; develop a repeatable playbook to enable a scalable, data‑driven hiring model that identifies, sources, and recruits A players; deploy technology and automation in operational hiring to power a high velocity and high quality funnel.
  • Operational Excellence & Compliance: ensure robust HR infrastructure, systems, and policies are in place; maintain compliance across UK employment law and relevant healthcare regulations (e.g., CQC/MHRA/GPhC); manage clinician credentialing and safeguarding training in partnership with Clinical Governance.
  • Performance Culture: evolve our performance philosophy to drive high performance while ensuring fairness; own the framework for goal‑setting/OKRs, feedback, calibration, and promotions.
  • Total Reward: design and manage a competitive compensation and benefits strategy that rewards impact and retains top talent; support executive compensation planning, participating in the Board’s RemCo.
  • Learning & Development: build L&D programmes that create clear career pathways and leadership capabilities at all levels.
  • Employee Value Proposition: act as custodian of Numan’s EVP, ensuring we remain a top‑tier destination for talent, and mature our Employee Experience to keep daily culture high‑trust and high‑empathy as we grow.

Who You Are

  • Strategic, data‑driven people leader who balances empathy with commercial reality; understand that a great culture is the result of deliberate strategy, not just "perks".
  • Experience: 8‑10+ years in progressive People/HR leadership, leading the function in a high‑growth, product‑led, or operationally complex business; experience in healthcare, regulated sectors, or multi‑disciplinary workforces (including clinicians) is a plus.
  • Scaling Success: track record of building high‑performing, inclusive cultures and scaling organisations, ideally from 500 to 1,000+ employees.
  • Commercial Acumen: in‑depth understanding of the P&L and ability to articulate ROI of people initiatives; build business cases, not just HR policies.
  • Analytical Mindset: use people analytics to drive decision‑making and present data clearly to support strategy.
  • Leadership Style: high emotional intelligence, lead with authenticity, transparency, and kindness; trusted advisor to senior leadership team.
  • Technical Knowledge: strong command of UK employment law and depth of knowledge across the people toolkit, including org design, ER, and DEI.
  • Diverse Experience: may have a traditional People/HR background or recently moved into the field.
