The role

At Numan, we’re building a world-class digital health service that empowers people to take control of their health. As Head of Clinical Operations, you will be instrumental in shaping and scaling our clinical services to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality care across a 7-day service model. Sitting at the core of our clinical engine, this role combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership across multiple therapeutic areas, including men’s health, obesity, and beyond.

You’ll work cross-functionally to ensure clinical excellence, enable team performance, and scale our operations through technology, process innovation, and data-driven decisions.

You’ll be:

  • Leading operational delivery of clinical services across all treatment areas, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
  • Driving service efficiency, identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement through automation, tooling, and lean process design.
  • Managing team performance through KPIs and dashboards; supporting Clinical Ops Leads in diagnosing issues and embedding improvement strategies.
  • Developing the team structure, directly managing Clinical Operations Leads and the Coordinator Lead, and ensuring alignment, accountability, and clarity of ownership.
  • Building staff capability, ensuring that robust onboarding, supervision, and career development frameworks are in place for the clinical operations team.
  • Collaborating across functions, working closely with clinical, product, and commercial teams to ensure the clinical operation is scalable and aligned with company goals.
  • Owning workforce planning, rota optimisation, and capacity modelling to maintain service availability and quality across a 7-day service.
  • Upholding clinical governance, ensuring adherence to internal and regulatory standards, and maintaining operational resilience.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Significant experience in clinical operations leadership, preferably in a digital health or tech-enabled care setting.
  • A proven track record of managing large, multidisciplinary clinical teams across multiple services.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using data to drive performance improvements and resource planning.
  • Deep understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and regulatory frameworks in healthcare.
  • Experience designing and implementing onboarding, training, and progression pathways for clinical teams.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, flexing between high-level planning and on-the-ground execution.

It’s a bonus if you have:

  • Experience scaling clinical services in a high-growth startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with digital health platforms, telemedicine, or remote prescribing workflows.
  • Expertise in lean operations, workforce management tools, or health tech systems.
  • Background in healthcare service design, service mapping, or capacity/demand modelling.
