The Role
We’re looking for a Clinical Product Lead (CPL) to join our clinical product team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. As a CPL, you’ll bring clinical expertise into the product development process, ensuring that everything we build is grounded in evidence‑based medicine, user‑centred design and safe care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Designing condition‑specific patient journeys – from onboarding and triage to prescribing and follow‑up – that are safe, evidence‑based and scalable.
- Identifying white‑space opportunities and unmet clinical needs, assessing the feasibility, safety and strategic value of new interventions, diagnostics and service lines.
- Conducting horizon scanning to surface emerging clinical trends, innovative treatments and digital health technologies that could enhance care delivery or outcomes.
- Acting as the clinical voice within a product squad, leading on pathway design, workflow optimisation and clinical safety across your area of focus.
- Translating clinical and operational needs into product functionality that improves speed, quality and outcomes for both patients and clinicians.
- Designing and iterating on clinical workflows within EHR systems, onboarding, triage and prescribing, ensuring they are efficient, compliant and patient‑centred.
- Developing and maintaining clinical decision support tools that enable safe automation and high‑quality, scalable delivery.
- Monitoring and testing AI‑driven tools, focusing on improving accuracy, explainability and safety.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams – including engineering, design, operations and governance – to ship features and track their impact on care delivery.
- Co‑creating internal tooling to support pharmacy, clinical and operations teams in delivering joined‑up, high‑quality care.
- Using data and user feedback to measure success, iterate on care pathways and continuously improve safety, experience and outcomes.
- Working closely with the Clinical Safety Officer to ensure clinical safety is embedded across the product lifecycle, including risk assessments and required documentation.
- Staying up to date with clinical evidence, regulatory guidance and relevant technologies – informing the product roadmap and long‑term strategy.
Qualifications
- A clinical background and experience in a regulated healthcare environment.
- A systems mindset – able to see beyond isolated features and think in terms of whole care journeys.
- Confidence in turning clinical needs into clear product and operational requirements.
- Strong communication skills – able to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Experience with clinical safety, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance in healthcare settings.
- An iterative, pragmatic approach – balancing clinical rigour with pace in dynamic environments.
- Passion for using digital tools to improve care delivery, safety and outcomes.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in obesity care, GLP‑1 pathways or digital metabolic health programmes.
- Experience in internal tooling, EHR systems or clinician‑facing infrastructure.
- Experience with AI/ML tools in clinical settings, especially LLMs, RAG or prompt engineering.
- Exposure to clinical governance in digital health, including audit trails and safety cases.
- Experience in service design, user research or quality improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with SNOMED, structured patient records or decision support systems.
Benefits
- Share options.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 the longer you stay with Numan).
- Health insurance with Vitality.
- Enhanced maternity and parental leave.
- Nursery benefit provided by YellowNest.
- Employee assistance programme (access to therapy, financial planning and discounts).
- Generous pension – includes both employee and employer contributions.
