The Role
Whether youâre stepping into seniority or a seasoned expert seeking a higher ceiling, this role delivers the autonomy and scale you need. As our primary onsite technical partner in London, you will be essential in ensuring IT is a visible, integrated, and reliable part of the office.
You will move beyond solving tickets to owning initiatives endâtoâend, providing the vital technical expertise and insights that help the Lead Engineer shape our broader IT strategy. Success in this role is all about the balance between highâlevel project delivery and being a helpful, visible presence onâsite. We are looking for someone who can keep the "Business as Usual" (BAU) tasks running smoothly while ensuring that our staff always feel they have a trusted point of contact to turn to for support and guidance.
Youâll be:
- A Vital Technical Contributor: Partnering with business leads to provide the essential insights needed for strategic decisions that keep our systems in sync with a fastâscaling business.
- Project Lead & Owner: Owning IT projects from planning through to delivery, making sure they align with business goals while keeping a steady hand on daily onsite support.
- A Visible Onsite Partner: Working side by side with other IT engineers while owning the firstâline experience for our London office, ensuring users feel heard, supported, and connected to our technology.
- Master of the Juggling Act: Making smart calls on your own priorities to hit project deadlines without letting general support or office infrastructure slip.
- Infrastructure & Security Lead: Managing our fleet of remote assets via MDM (e.g., Kandji), maintaining roleâbased access via SSO, and ensuring physical office infrastructure (cabling, CCTV) is functional and tidy.
- Technical Mentor: Raising the bar for the wider team by embedding best practices (ITIL) and assisting others with complex troubleshooting.
Weâre looking for someone who has:
- A Knack for Juggling Priorities: A proven ability to prioritise in a highâpressure environment, ensuring that complex projects do not distract from the essential daily support our team needs.
- Strong Professional Presence: The communication skills and confidence to work with people across all levels of the business, explaining technical concepts clearly to nonâtechnical colleagues.
- Desire for new challenges: Solid experience in IT or systems administration with a proactive mindset and a readiness to take on the responsibilities of a seniorâlevel role.
- Handsâon Technical Expertise: Proficiency with Google Workspace, macOS, and Windows device management.
- Operational Excellence: Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., Freshservice or Jira Service Desk) and a detailâdriven approach to maintaining clear documentation.
Itâs a bonus if you have:
- Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with both macOS and Windows device management.
- IT certifications (CompTIA A+, ITIL, or similar).
Our benefits include:
- Share options.
- 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 the longer you stay with Numan).
- Health insurance with Vitality.
- Enhanced maternity and parental leave.
- Nursery benefit provided by YellowNest.
- Employee assistance programme (access to therapy, financial planning and discounts).
- Generous pension (includes both employee and employer contributions).
- Flexible working options, including a dogâfriendly office in Farringdon.
- Personal training and development budget via Learnerbly.
- Wellhub membership, giving you access to over 2,000 locations in the UK.
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Season ticket loan.
- Discount on Numan products for your friends and family.
- Paid volunteering days.
- An additional 2 weeks off once you reach your 5th anniversary with Numan.
