About Numan Founded in 2018, we’ve already grown to be a 200+ team distributed across the globe, united by a singular mission: empowering people to take control of their health. Numan is transforming health: we’ve built a cutting‑edge platform that integrates diagnostics, medication, supplements, digital programmes, and doctor consultations. Giving people the tools they need to maximise life. To deliver on our transformative mission, we are guided by our 5 company values: Patients first, Learn Fast, Own the quality, Succeed together, Care deeply.
The role Numan is evolving its platform into a personalised healthcare experience. At the centre of this shift is the Core Experience, which forms the foundation for every patient journey across our products and treatment pathways. We’re looking for a Principal Product Designer to guide the vision and approach for the Core Experience. This is a strategic and hands‑on individual contributor role, responsible for shaping the direction of design across the platform, strengthening quality, and helping develop how the design team works as it scales.
You’ll work closely with the Design Director as a partner in thinking, supporting product vision, experience strategy, and the development of design practice at Numan. You’ll be:
- Setting the direction for the Core Experience to ensure clarity, consistency, and ease of use across multiple products and journeys.
- Establishing design standards, frameworks, and patterns that enable the platform to grow in a coherent and sustainable way.
- Guiding and supporting designers by offering thoughtful feedback and helping refine their approach and craft.
- Working with colleagues across product, engineering, clinical, and research teams to shape priorities and explore options with evidence and insight.
- Using research, data, and iterative methods to inform decisions and measure outcomes.
- Helping strengthen design culture, ways of working, and collaboration across teams.
- Ensuring the Core Experience supports a range of treatment pathways while allowing specialist teams to contribute effectively.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Extensive experience operating at Principal, Staff, or equivalent senior IC level in product‑led environments.
- Experience shaping design across complex products or multi‑team ecosystems.
- A strong foundation in systems thinking, platform‑level UX, and designing for scale.
- The ability to work with senior partners across the organisation and influence the direction of work through clarity and reasoning.
- A supportive mindset, helping elevate the quality of design across teams.
- Strong capability across interaction design, visual design, information architecture, and service design.
- Experience applying research and data to refine and evolve design solutions.
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience working within healthcare or other regulated settings.
- Experience developing modular systems, reusable frameworks, or early‑stage platform foundations.
- Experience helping evolve design practices or shaping team processes.
Our benefits include:
- Share options.
- 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 the longer you stay with Numan).
- Health insurance with Vitality.
- Enhanced maternity and parental leave.
- Nursery benefit provided by YellowNest.
- Employee assistance programme (access to therapy, financial planning and discounts).
- Generous pension (includes both employee and employer contributions).
- Flexible working options, including a dog‑friendly office in Farringdon.
- Personal training and development budget via Learnerbly.
- Wellhub membership, giving you access to over 2,000 locations in the UK.
- Free office snacks including breakfast items, soft drinks, tea and coffee.
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Season ticket loan.
- Discount on Numan products for your friends and family.
- Paid volunteering days.
- An additional 2 weeks off once you reach your 5th anniversary with Numan.
