NUVIA has a new vacancy for a permanent Mechanical Engineering Specialist who would grow into the field of Nuclear Waste Packages (Type B / IP). The primary objective of this role would be to deliver project work as a Mechanical Engineer, working towards a specialist in the field of engineering nuclear waste packages & the licensing of these packages. You would be joining our burgeoning team, within which you will build experience and design techniques and appreciate the whole life cycle of engineering consultancy projects.

The area of Engineering and Licensing (in particular, Licensing Assessment/Applications and Hand Calculations) is treated as a part of the formal design process and is also vital for achieving regulatory acceptance for our customers.
You will interface with other engineering disciplines, project managers, production engineers, inspectors, nuclear safety and engineering analysis specialists. You will adhere to both NUVIA and client governance processes and deliver to these accordingly.
The portfolio of projects has many waste packages in the manufacturing phase or which have been recently manufactured, therefore you get to see your hard work come to life!
In addition, NUVIA can offer exposure and the opportunity to contribute to projects within other areas of the nuclear industry including decommissioning, new build, energy innovation and the MOD.
