As a Service and Installations Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of specialized equipment and machinery. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure that equipment operates efficiently and safely. The role will require travel to customer sites across a set region (South, North and Scotland), offering the opportunity to work at a variety of locations and interact with a diverse range of clients.

Key Accountabilities

  • Installation
    • Install and set up new equipment and machinery at customer sites or within the organization's facilities.
    • Ensure that installations adhere to safety and quality standards.
    • Calibrate and configure equipment to meet operational requirements.
  • Maintenance and Service
    • Perform routine maintenance to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
    • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to identify and address potential issues.
    • Replace or repair faulty components, parts, or systems as needed.
  • Troubleshooting
    • Investigate and diagnose equipment malfunctions or technical problems.
    • Develop solutions and implement repairs to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Documentation
    • Maintain detailed records of equipment installations, maintenance, and service activities.
    • Generate service reports and documentation for internal and external use.
  • Customer Interaction
    • Interact with customers to understand their equipment needs and provide technical support.
    • Communicate effectively with clients to explain installation procedures, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
  • Training and Support
    • Provide training and guidance to end-users or technicians on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
    • Offer technical support and assistance to customers via phone, email, or on-site visits.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and certifications related to equipment operation and service.

Profile Occupational Skills and Training

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, with a focus on electrical being preferred. Holds, or has the ability to achieve, a valid ECS Gold Card (Installation Electrician or Maintenance Electrician) or the ECS HERS (Highway Electrical Registration Scheme) Card. Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Experience in equipment installation, maintenance, or repair is preferred. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment manuals. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
