Position – Mechanical Field Engineer
Location – Hinkley Point C site
Travel – 5 days per week on site
Arrangement – Permanent
NUVIA UK's Technical Services & Consulting department is fast growing with hybrid opportunities available up and down the country. We're striving to create a multidisciplinary team to offer our clients the best range of talent. BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferable.
Profile
- General knowledge on: pumps/valve/heat exchangers installation, torque control and joint integrity checks, FME requirements (back out checks), QA/QC experience.
- Knowledge and experience with computer software such as Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams and PowerPoint.
- Ideal candidate will be looking for a hands-off role; this position is to observe, capture and report only (no physical work).
- Role is 75% site and 25% office based.
- Responsible for recording and reporting findings to Construction and Quality, including records, information to be recorded, saved and distributed accordingly.
- Managing outcomes of surveillance: attending meetings, challenging contractors and being challenged themselves.
- Documentation checks or reviews will be undertaken; knowledge of specifications (BTS, BST, ISO9001, GQAS) essential.
- Experience aimed at 24–36 months; candidates with hands-on experience may be bored.
- Mechanical qualifications: HND/diploma may not be essential; experience and understanding can be enough.
- 5 years’ experience usually enough; knowledge of current processes such as NCRs/ITPs an advantage.
- Must be a team member; the team is transverse across the project and all scopes are shared with quality, construction and other surveillance teams.
