We are seeking two Quantity Surveying/Commercial professionals to join our Commercial team based out of our Risley or Milton offices. You will be responsible for delivering the commercial and contract management of our projects, from inception to final account. You will work closely with project teams and support functions, and build strong relationships with our clients and supply chain. Your enthusiastic, proactive and professional approach will be key to successful project commercial outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Project cash flow and budget
- Contractual terms & conditions (both client and supply chain)
- Interim applications in accordance with contract procedures
- Change management, in accordance with contract procedures
- Negotiation of contract amendments, including review of terms & conditions
- Subcontract account management, including review of interim applications, preparation of payment certificates, management and assessment of potential changes, and final accounting upon completion
- Preparation of internal cost / commercial reports, including accurate margin forecasting
- Compliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulations
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or in a related subject (candidates with appropriate experience may be considered)
- 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying in the engineering or construction industry
- Good working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts (particularly Options C & E)
- Demonstrable experience of successfully carrying out Quantity Surveying duties on multiple engineering and/or construction projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with project teams, clients, and the supply chain
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- PC literate in the Microsoft Office suite
- Proficient in the use of the CEMAR Contract Management System
- Line management experience (for Commercial Manager)
- Current SC Clearance, or ability to achieve SC Clearance through NUVIA
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel to other UK offices and sites on occasion as necessary
