This is an exciting opportunity for a new 0.8 WTE Specialty Doctor post within Dermatology covering Adults and Paediatric patients.
The post is fixed term for 12 months.
It is designed for a doctor with experience in dermatology who is looking to join the GMC specialist register for dermatology via CESR application. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a portfolio of experience, and will be given the opportunity to complete CESR competencies.
Main duties of the job
The duties of the post will involve working with the dermatology consultant team to provide direct clinical care to patients along with active involvement of the Dermatology 'in-hours' on-call rota.
As a patient-centred, clinically led organisation we expect our clinical partners to participate in care-pathway development, research, audit and teaching. The successful applicant will be allocated a mentor and be given time to understand the processes of the department.
The post holder will have a base in the Nottingham Treatment Centre on the Queen’s Medical Centre Campus.
The job plan timetable will include a mixture of general dermatology, skin cancer and subspecialist clinics, surgical or biopsy lists, with MDT and peer education sessions on Thursday afternoons.

Training & Qualifications
- GMC registration
- License to practice in the UK
- MRCP, MRCGP, or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of post-registration experience
- Minimum of 12 months paid dermatology employment in UK
- Previous audit or research project
- Ability to perform basic dermatology surgery including simple excisions
Communication and relationship skills
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Able to work within multidisciplinary teams
Analytical and Judgement skills
- Demonstrate a good manner with patients, being sensitive to their needs and fears
- Able to take overall responsibility for patients

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post.
