Base pay range

Role: Night Secure Childcare Workers

Location of role: St Helens, Merseyside

Rate of Pay: £25,905.73 – £28,410.65 per annum

Hours of work: Full time (38 hours) and part time (19.5 hours) roles available

Role Description:

We are currently recruiting for Night Secure Care Workers who will be responsible for providing outstanding care to the children and young people, treating them with compassion and respect. Our primary function is to offer protection to young people when they are in crisis and provide a support pathway for the future.

You will provide essential support to our young people by helping them gain the best outcome; you will support with education, health, independence and build their self-confidence. As a Night Secure Care Worker, you must be optimistic and passionate about the care you provide and difference you strive to make and considerate of the struggles they face. The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. Our young people are individuals and they all deserve to be treated as such.

Experience and Skills:

  • Will be able to demonstrate their ability to showcase our core values in their work with the young people, treating everybody with dignity and showing courage in the face of challenging behaviour.
  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma for residential childcare (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this
  • Demonstrate a commitment to support and care for vulnerable and traumatised young people
  • Engage in good child care practice
  • Recognise and set limits of behaviour and provide controls to traumatised and vulnerable young people.
  • Handle emotional and physical conflict.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to crisis situations and to use initiative
  • Understand the needs of children and young people
  • Understand the stages of child development, attachment and impact of trauma
