Nugent Coachworks are currently recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer to join our team on a Full-Time, Permanent basis. To support the design and production of commercial vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently in a lead design engineer role, looking to join a progressive and ambitious organisation.

JOB FUNCTION

The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Managing design projects from concept to completion, working first hand with customers to develop bespoke solutions to meet their needs
  • Supporting and mentoring design team members with any queries or issues
  • Analysing current design processes and procedures and implementing improvements
  • Developing work instructions and operating procedures to support production processes
  • Investigating Engineering problems and implementing solutions and corrective actions
  • Encouraging continuous improvement culture, identifying potential improvements in design, processes and manufacturing techniques
  • Ensuring all designs adhere to VCA standards
  • Creating and managing BOMs, PDMs etc.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

· 3rd level qualification in an engineering related discipline

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

· 5+ years experience within Design Engineering role

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong organisation and project management skills

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

· Experience in using Solid Works

· Knowledge of VCA standards
