This is a critical role that will help lay the groundwork for future initiatives by investigating and documenting our current technical landscape. You will work across software, hardware, databases, and servers to understand how systems interact, identify risks and dependencies, and support the planning of secure, effective upgrades across Nuffield Health.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cyber teams to validate technical flows, dependencies, and upgrade implications.
- Engage with stakeholders across IT, clinical, and operational areas to capture and validate requirements, ensuring alignment to business objectives.
- Develop clear and structured documentation, including system diagrams, data flows, and technical inventories, to support planning and delivery.
- Support the creation of business cases, options appraisals, and impact assessments for proposed upgrades or decommissioning activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Solution Architect to ensure technical designs meet business needs, compliance requirements, and long‑term strategic goals.
- Contribute to project planning, testing, and implementation activities within an agile‑inspired delivery model.
- Support risk, issue, and dependency tracking across workstreams.
- Help define KPIs and success measures to assess business value and post‑implementation benefits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Systems Analyst or Technical Business Analyst within transformation or infrastructure programmes (3‑5 years minimum).
- Strong experience working with systems and infrastructure, including the ability to reverse‑engineer undocumented environments.
- Familiarity with databases, server architecture, and system integrations; able to work confidently with architects and technical SMEs.
- Excellent analytical and documentation skills – able to translate complex technical environments into structured, actionable outputs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience in healthcare, public sector, or regulated environments is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with cyber, infrastructure, or decommissioning projects (e.g. zero trust, network modernisation, SOC implementation) is desirable.
- Confident working in a hybrid, fast‑moving environment, managing ambiguity and competing priorities.
Personal Attributes
- A self‑starter, comfortable taking ownership and working proactively.
- Collaborative and open, with a strong team ethic.
- Detail‑focused yet pragmatic, able to balance analysis with delivery.
- Purpose‑driven, motivated by improving systems that ultimately enhance patient care.
