At Nuffield Health, we are looking for someone to join our Radiology department at our York Hospital. Previous clinical or diagnostic experience would be beneficial. You’ll have a caring nature and the ability to see each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy, helping us to deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service.
As our Radiology Assistant you will:
- Assist patients throughout their time within the department and preparing patients prior to their imaging.
- Assist the Radiographers in maintaining an efficient daily work list, workflow of patients.
- Assist Radiologists in carrying out radiological examinations/chaperoning patients in ultrasound.
- Prepare the clinical rooms prior to imaging procedures, ensuring everything is ready, clean and tidy.
- Deal with service user queries and patient appointments using Radiology IT systems.
- Be responsible for stock maintenance and ordering.
- Deal with patient image transfer to and from other health institutions.
The Person
To succeed as a Radiology Assistant, you will need:
- Experience within a Radiology department is an advantage, assisting with fluoroscopy and US procedures in particular. Training is provided.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health related subject.
- Be caring and empathetic.
