Roles and responsibilities:
- Support patient rehabilitation through skilled work.
- Assist qualified physiotherapists in assessment and rehabilitation.
- Manage own patient caseload referred by physiotherapists, prioritizing effectively.
- Follow treatment protocols, monitor progress, and communicate any issues to physiotherapists.
- Work independently, reporting patient progress and any concerns.
- Manage rehabilitation tasks delegated by physiotherapists, assessing and reporting on patient progress.
- Have knowledge of mobility aids and equipment, including for bariatric patients, and instruct patients on their use.
- Encourage patients and carers in maintaining independence with empathy and interpersonal skills.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare staff, patients, and carers, overcoming barriers as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation per CSP and Physiotherapy standards.
- Liaise with physiotherapists regarding patient care and treatment outcomes.
- Assist with administrative duties such as reception cover and diary management.
- Maintain stock levels of equipment and report issues.
- Contribute to service development through meetings and feedback.
- Perform general administrative duties to support clinical operations.
- Participate in service improvements and infection control practices.
- Ensure treatment areas are safe, clean, and equipment is functional.
- Understand and apply clinical governance policies.
- Report incidents and participate in audits and training programs.
- Support weekend rota and ongoing professional development.
