As a Hospital Porter at our Wessex Hospital, you\’ll need to be a good communicator, as this role involves helping our patients to feel relaxed and reassured, before and after surgery. It\’s also essential that you\’re happy to undergo our Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, as part of your application.
The Role
In this varied and physical role as a Hospital Porter, you will:
- Collect and return patients to their individual rooms following surgery.
Work alongside trained professionals ensuring that the theatre environment and equipment is fully functioning. - Support the cleaning of theatre equipment and environment.
- Be working in a fast moving clinical environment, with constant interaction with the Theatre Team.
To succeed as a Hospital Porter, you will:
- Be comfortable with a physical role which involves pushing beds and lifting heavy equipment.
- Be a good communicator as part of your role will be ensuring that patients are feeling as relaxed and reassured prior to their surgery.
Wessex Hospital
Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital is a stunning 46 bedded private hospital in West Hampshire with specialisms in Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Women\’s Health and Spinal surgery. The hospital also benefits from having onsite Radiology, Pathology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy so we can give our patients a complete package of care. There are 16 consulting rooms with speciality outpatient rooms, 46 private patient bedrooms with en-suite facilities, 24 hr resident doctor on site (RMO) and four operating theatres and one endoscopy suite.
