Main duties of the job:

  • Have a completed UKONS SACT passport.
  • Be proficient in cannulation and venepuncture and able to access CVADs.
  • Lead by example and be an ambassador for the Nuffield Health way of caring.
  • Recognise talent and nurture junior colleagues, mentoring them to be their best.
  • Use excellent clinical skills and empathetic approach to meet each patient's needs.
  • Enjoy autonomy to make decisions that ensure excellent patient care.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students.
  • Contribute to scheduling and rotas, recruitment, induction, performance reviews and training.

Job responsibilities:

This role is part of a bank system; hours are ad-hoc based on business needs. The Senior Staff Nurse – Oncology will work closely with consultants, lead by example, and support patient care and staff development.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the appropriate governing body, holding NMC registration.
  • Relevant qualifications and post-registration experience in oncology nursing.
  • Experience in mentoring and multi-specialty surgical procedures.
  • Knowledge of teaching, assessment, and management principles preferred.
