Up to £24,613.68 per annum, depending on experience
37.5 hours per week – plus 1 Saturday per month in a split shift as overtime
Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) transports sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to our local hospital network. If you have a full driving license with a C1 entitlement which allows you to drive rigid vehicles up to 7.5 tons Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) and hold a digital tachograph card, you could enjoy the benefits of joining the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity.
A full Driver Qualification card (CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)) is advantageous but full training is available.
As a Driver on our Cambridge HSSU Hub team, you’re comfortable with manual handling and happy to move transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250kg. As well as a basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation, you ideally hold a driver digital tachograph card. You’ll be a great ambassador for our unit and our customers’ first point of contact.
As a Driver, you will:
- Collect and make deliveries by van or car to customers, driving 7.5T vehicles.
- Receive and check deliveries of medical devices from customers.
- Help keep equipment in good working order and report any faults.
- Keep a clean, tidy work environment and identify stock issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate tachograph records and documentation.
- Be flexible with your working hours (shifts operate between 3am and 9pm, Monday to Friday with varying times on Saturdays).
