Clinical Exercise Physiologist
St Bartholomew\’s Hospital | Physiology | Permanent | Full time |
Up to £46,500 (dependent on experience)
37.5 hours per week
The successful candidate will be able to use scientific rationale to perform clinical exercise testing, risk stratification, exercise prescription, physical activity counselling, exercise supervision, and health education/promotion to assist in the recovery from illness and prevent or manage chronic disease. You will work independently in conducting patient assessments, functional capacity testing, as well as leading on the delivery of small group and individual exercise training and health education sessions.
You will work alongside other members of the MDT to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle change for patients who have had a cardiac diagnosis, surgery or procedure, or are undergoing cancer treatment. You will provide supervision and line management for more junior members of the team. You will work to maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders including cancer and cardiac care leads, consultants and clinical nurse specialists.
About the person
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience of providing individual and group tailored exercise programmes for those with cardiovascular disease.
It will be essential to have:

Registration with the AHCS as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (via the MSc or equivalence route)

Experience of working in the healthcare and/or clinical setting
