As a Manager for the Children and Young Person’s service you will:

  • Play a vital role in the child’s journey through the hospital.
  • Be a trusted guide and support to them as well as to their parents or guardians.
  • Deliver high quality, clinically effective care as an essential part of our ward team.
  • Work with a wide variety of cases which will broaden your skills.
  • Be accountable for the operational and clinical management of the CYP service.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants and a range of stakeholders to drive and develop the CYP service.
  • Lead and manage a team of specialist nurses to deliver a bespoke service for our patients.
  • Promote innovation within the service to be responsive to service user needs.

To succeed as a Children and Young Person’s Manager, you will:

  • Be NMC qualified and have extensive post registration experience in a children’s ward setting.
  • Have various levels of post-registration experience – and ideally EPALS, ILS or ALS skills or willingness to undertake further study.
  • Experience in Children’s nursing with Adult nursing as an advantage.
  • Experience of clinical leadership.
  • Can work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Can engage and build relationships with external stakeholders.
