About the Role
As our Theatre Manager, you will take full accountability for clinical effectiveness, operational performance and workforce leadership across Theatre, Endoscopy and HSSU. You’ll be a visible, confident and inspiring leader who sets the tone for excellence, builds a strong safety culture and ensures every patient receives high‑quality, evidence‑based perioperative care. You will collaborate with the senior leadership team by supporting strategic planning and driving continuous improvement across your service.
What You’ll Lead and Deliver:
- Safety
- Build a proactive, “always safe” culture where concerns are raised and acted on
- Drive compliance with governance, infection prevention, regulatory standards and clinical policies
- Lead incident investigations, risk assessments and safeguarding activity
- Maintain a robust risk register and ensure accurate clinical reporting
- Effectiveness
- Champion clinical excellence and evidence‑based practice
- Lead governance activity and ensure quality improvements are embedded
- Oversee departmental resources, budgets, workforce planning and service development
- Ensure high performance across clinical KPIs, theatre utilisation and audit outcomes

We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced and confident clinical leader who can truly make an impact.
You will have:
- Registration with the NMC or HCPC
- Significant post‑registration experience within theatres
- Proven leadership and people management capability
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication skills and confidence managing complex situations
- Experience in budget management, demand and capacity planning
- A mentorship qualification and ongoing commitment to CPD
- A leadership/management qualification (desirable)
