Radiology Administrator in Plymouth

Job Title

Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital – Radiology Administrator – Permanent – Full Time – 37.5 hours per week – £24,043.50 per annum

Overview

Our Radiology Administration team at Nuffield Plymouth Hospital has an opportunity for a Radiology Administrator. The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering all modalities including General Radiography, Theatre, Mammography, Ultrasound, MRI & CT. As a Radiology Administrator you will be an integral part of our Radiology team and the Front of House, providing excellent patient care and working closely with patients, Radiographers, Radiologists, Consultants and all departments across the Nuffield Hospital group.

Role

You will be the face of Nuffield Health Radiology and sensitive to our customers’ needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients in person and direct them to the appropriate waiting rooms.
• Use empathy and customer service skills to build positive relationships with patients, staff and Consultants.
• Put people at ease when they visit our department.
• Schedule radiology appointments, manage radiology diaries and maintain databases while adhering to data protection.
• Answer the phone, process queries and deal with enquiries.
• Help the department run smoothly by preparing clinical paperwork, referral forms, charge sheets and terms and conditions.
• Support clinical staff.
• Download and transfer images between hospitals.
• Distribute imaging reports to referring clinicians.

Qualifications

• Great communication, organisational & analytical skills.
• Ability to explain sensitive or complicated information in a clear, sympathetic and easily understood way.
• Ideally experience in healthcare administration or radiology reception.
• Good IT and keyboard skills (NVQ level 2 in business administration desirable).
• Knowledge of clinical terminology (desirable).
