Working across various cases and supporting a wide range of specialties, you’ll have the opportunity to broaden your skills.
As a Healthcare Assistant in Outpatients/pre-assessment at our Plymouth hospital, you should have relevant experience, keen attention to detail, and a flexible approach. Patience, focus, and excellent communication skills are essential. Being a team player with diligence, IT literacy, and a passion for development and training will help you succeed.
If you are qualified to NVQ Level 2 or 3, with relevant experience in an acute hospital or care setting, that’s an advantage.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting colleagues in Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Cardiology, GP Services, Ophthalmics & Dermatology.
- Providing more time to care for patients as individuals.
- Managing a wide range of activities and adapting to changing priorities.
- Ensuring smooth daily operations of various clinics.
- Assisting consultants and nurses with procedures such as dressings and wound care.
- Carrying out pre-assessment tasks to prepare patients for planned surgeries, both face-to-face and over the phone.
