We are looking for a Lead Nurse (CYP Services) to join our team in our Leicester Hospital to lead our paediatric nursing team in providing the service and ensuring high levels of patient care are met at all times.
The Role
You will be an integral part of decision making by working closely with the Nuffield Health Group Lead Nurse and Hospital Senior Management Team and by building lasting and effective relationships with our Consultant partners.

- Play a vital role in the child’s journey through the hospital.
- Be a trusted guide and support to them as well as to their parents or guardians.
- Deliver high quality, clinically effective care as an essential part of our ward team.
- Work with a wide variety of cases which will broaden your skills. You will also work within different specialist areas.
- Be accountable for the operational and clinical management of the CYP service
- Lead and manage a team of specialist nurses to deliver a bespoke service for our patients
- Promote innovation within the service to be responsive to service user needs.
The Person
To succeed as a Children and Young Person’s Nurse you will;
- Be NMC qualified and have extensive post registration experience in a children’s ward setting
- Have various levels of post-registration experience – and ideally, ILS or ALS skills or willingness to undertake further study.
- Experience in Children’s nursing with Adult nursing as an advantage
- Experience of clinical leadership is an advantage
- Can work well individually and as part of a team
- Can engage and build relationships with external stakeholders

Leicester Hospital
Founded in 1969, Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital was originally built from funds raised by the local community and is now one of the leading providers of private healthcare in Leicestershire. The Hospital has a strong local reputation with patients remaining loyal. The Hospital had a £4.5 million refurbishment in 2011 and was the blue print for the wider Hospitals refresh programme.
The Hospital has 28 ensuite inpatient beds, 2 Laminar flow theatres, Endoscopy Suite, minor treatment room and 14 consulting rooms. The hospital delivers a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient treatments and services using the best possible technologies. Since 2015 we have invested in a static MRI unit, a new digital X ray room & digital mammography. We are a local centre of excellence for Children and Young People Services. Having a Fitness & Wellbeing Gym in Leicester has led to a close working relationship and the Hospital was a forerunner for the Nuffield recovery plus programme.
The Hospital has been rated as a ‘Good’ hospital by the CQC and achieved this rating across the 5 key lines of enquiry across all departments inspected
