£26,937 per annum. This full-time post supports College operations during the evening. Working alongside other members of the Lodge team in our newly refurbished Lodge, the post holder will help ensure that the high standard of service delivered during the day is maintained throughout the evening. As the first point of contact for College members, visitors, and guests, the Lodge at Nuffield College plays a key role in supporting College activities and in creating a welcoming, professional environment for all those who visit, study, or work at the College.

During term-time, the post holder will normally work between 16:30 and 23:30. While these hours are expected to be worked predominantly Monday to Friday, the role will also require occasional weekend working and late finishes of up to 01:30, depending on operational needs. Outside of term-time the postholder will be expected to take their annual leave entitlement and provide cover for colleagues' annual leave. This will involve working early shifts, including:

  • Early shifts (06:45 – 15:30)
  • Mid shifts (08:30 – 17:15)
  • Late shifts (15:00 – 23:45)

Some of these shifts will fall at weekends. Any additional hours worked will be paid as overtime at time and a half.

Our benefits package includes 41 days annual leave inclusive of public holidays and closed periods at Christmas and Easter, free meals whilst on duty, a season-ticket loan scheme, and contributory pension scheme.
