As Global IP Counsel, you will provide specialist in‑house leadership on intellectual property and patent matters across Nufarm’s global operations. In this role you will shape and execute Nufarm’s global IP strategy—protecting innovation, supporting commercialisation, and managing third‑party risk across multiple jurisdictions.
How You’ll Help Us Grow
- Develop and execute global IP strategy to support innovation, commercial growth and risk management
- Lead patent prosecution strategy, patent landscape mapping and freedom‑to‑operate searches across jurisdictions
- Manage global patent and trade mark portfolios, including enforcement, defence and litigation matters
- Act as primary IP advisor on technology transfer, licensing, R&D collaboration and commercialisation agreements
- Support M&A activity through IP due diligence and transactional advice
- Partner closely with scientists, innovation leaders and regional legal teams to deliver practical, timely IP advice
- Oversee and challenge external counsel to ensure quality, value and alignment with business objectives
Could This Be You?
You will bring:
- Graduate qualifications in law, a background in science (plant, agriculture, pharma, life/biochemical or chemical disciplines) would also be beneficial
- Admission to practise law in a relevant common law jurisdiction and qualification as a Patent Attorney
- Strong experience drafting and prosecuting patents, managing global portfolios and overseeing IP litigation. You are comfortable with hands on work.
- Proven IP transactional experience, including licensing, technology transfer, collaboration agreements and M&A support
- Background in agriculture, life sciences, chemical or biotechnology sectors
- The ability to translate complex IP issues into clear, commercial advice for senior and technical stakeholders
- Excellent judgement, communication skills and the ability to operate with autonomy in a global environment
