As a Control & Instrumentation Technician at our Wyke site, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective maintenance and reliability of plant control and instrumentation systems across our upper-tier COMAH facility.

  • How You’ll Help Us Grow
  • Ensure all Control & Instrument maintenance activities (routine, corrective, shutdown and breakdown) are executed with appropriate Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), risk assessments and in line with permit-to-work systems.
  • Deliver maximum availability of plant equipment through effective use of CMMS systems (Oracle EAM), covering planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Maintain and support DCS control systems, PLC systems, Fire & Gas detection systems, ESD systems and associated cause & effect processes.
  • Ensure compliance with inspection regimes, flange management standards and company-defined maintenance strategies.
  • Interface effectively with Production, Engineering, Projects and external service providers to deliver optimal maintenance outcomes.
  • Support maintenance planning, campaign maintenance and shutdown/turnaround activities in collaboration with the Maintenance Planner and Scheduler.
  • Provide updates on maintenance progress, risks and highlights to the EC&I Supervisor for reporting purposes.
  • Coach and mentor technicians in line with competency-based training and succession planning initiatives.

Could This Be You?

  • You Will Bring
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management and chemical production operations.
  • Expertise in PLC and DCS control loop maintenance, troubleshooting and testing.
  • Knowledge of Fire & Gas systems, ESD systems and integrated flow, pressure, temperature and level instrumentation.
  • Experience working with CMMS systems (Oracle EAM, SAP) and supply chain/materials management processes.
  • Confidence interfacing with OEMs, contractors and project teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to report effectively to line management.
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach aligned with Nufarm’s RARE values and a clear commitment to safety and wellbeing.

Experience coaching and mentoring maintenance personnel and working within matrix or functional environments will be highly regarded.

Please note this role involves working a rotating shift pattern.
