The Environmental Engineer is responsible for leading the safety and environmental compliance at the division. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining compliance with all safety and environmental requirements;
- Implementation and management of environmental programs (air, water, waste) including permitting and reporting;
- Education and training of the team;
- Engaging with the plant wide team for solutions to problems and promoting continual improvement;
- Participating in community outreach initiatives.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Minimum of two years' experience in environmental compliance, permitting and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 14001 or related management system.
- Experience related to manufacturing or industrial environment.
