Responsibilities:
- The Environmental Engineer is responsible for leading the safety and environmental compliance at the division.
- Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining compliance with all safety and environmental requirements; implementation and management of environmental programs (air, water, waste) including permitting and reporting; education and training of the team; engaging with the plant wide team for solutions to problems and promoting continual improvement; and participating in community outreach initiatives.
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in environmental compliance, permitting and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ISO 14001 or related management system.
- Experience related to manufacturing or industrial environment.
