The Nucor Cold Finish South Carolina Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of all production and material handling equipment at NCFSC, including but not limited to draw benches, coil lines, TGP equipment, and overhead cranes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting and correcting electrical systems on all production lines
  • Designing and installing electrical conduit, wiring, and components for process equipment
  • Performing scheduled preventive electrical maintenance on production lines
  • Assisting in tracking, organizing, and maintaining electrical and automation spare parts inventory

The candidate must be able to operate fork trucks, overhead cranes, and man lifts, work in confined spaces and at heights, travel for training and continuous education, and be willing to work rotating shifts and weekends as required. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five years industrial maintenance experience
  • Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronics
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting electrical systems and circuits
  • Extensive experience with motor controls and drives, both AC and DC
  • Basic Knowledge of PLCs and ladder logic
  • Experience with Rockwell PLC/HMI programming
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PLC software and ladder logic
  • Experience in commissioning and start-up of industrial equipment
  • Experience reading hydraulic diagrams and troubleshooting hydraulic systems
  • Multi-craft experience
