About the Role:
We are an established and growing maintenance contractor specialising in domestic property works. We are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team based in New Romney, Kent.
Youll play a key role in managing the commercial and financial aspects of multiple property maintenance contracts, ensuring profitability, compliance, and quality delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to join a stable business working on long-term frameworks and refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the commercial management of planned maintenance and reactive works contracts on domestic properties
- Prepare accurate valuations, applications for payment, CVRs, and cost reports
- Procure subcontractors and materials, ensuring value for money and compliance with budgets
- Evaluate and manage subcontractor accounts, variations, and final accounts
- Work closely with operational teams, clients, and suppliers to support project delivery
- Monitor contract performance, identify risks, and implement cost control measures
- Support the bid and estimating team on pricing for new and existing clients
- Ensure all commercial activity aligns with company processes and contractual obligations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the domestic property maintenance or social housing sector
- Strong understanding of maintenance contracts, schedules of rates (SORs), and framework agreements
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and QS software
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., Quantity Surveying, RICS, CIOB)
