About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter to join a leading contractor delivering responsive repairs and maintenance across social housing properties throughout Manchester. This is a permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary, company van, fuel card, and excellent long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive and planned carpentry repairs within occupied and void social housing properties.
  • Install, repair and maintain:
    • Internal and external doors
    • Door frames
    • Skirting boards and architraves
    • Kitchens and worktops
    • Flooring
    • Windows and locks
    • Fencing and gates
  • Complete first and second fix carpentry works.
  • Undertake minor multi-trade duties where required, including basic plumbing, patch plastering and decorating.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while working in tenants' homes.
  • Complete job reports using a handheld device.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter, ideally within social housing, responsive repairs or property maintenance.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry and Joinery (desirable).
  • Experience working in occupied properties.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
