About the role

The Head of Group Financial Reporting will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting for the Group, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of Group consolidated financial statements, Group regulatory submissions and internal management reporting information.

This role will play a key part in maintaining strong financial controls, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

Responsibilities

Key accountabilities include

• Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely Group consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Management of the monthly Group consolidation and production of Management accounting information
• Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements
• Coordinate the production of statutory financial statements for the Group along with the Stack and manage external audit processes
• Ensure appropriate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are implemented across the Group, working with the Head of Accounting Policy and Advisory.
• Support the preparation and submission of Group regulatory financial returns in line with FCA requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all financial reporting obligations under relevant regulations and governance frameworks.
• Work closely with the regulatory reporting and capital teams to ensure accurate reporting of financial and capital-related disclosures.
• Drive improvements in financial reporting processes, automation, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring adherence to best practices including Balance sheet substantiation process.
• Lead and develop a high-performing group reporting team, providing mentorship and career development opportunities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence within the finance function.
• Support the Group Financial Controller in developing financial governance frameworks and ensuring effective risk management.

• Other Committees and Working Groups as required
• Supporting good customer outcomes through
• Maintenance of financial accounting and reporting control
• Ensuring reliable complete financial information is captured for all components of the Group
• Meeting internal and external audit standards, remediating shortfalls if and when they arise

• Achieving required timeliness, completeness and accuracy measures
• Liaison with internal/external stakeholders
• Developing recommendations and decision making/escalation with respect to accounting, reporting and financial control risk matters
• Ensuring timely submission of required Statutory, Fiscal and Regulatory filings
• Maintaining appropriate level of technical skills for self and team
• Take responsibility in everything you do to deliver good outcomes for our customers

About you

• You will have,
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience leading a finance organisation or large finance team in the financial services sector.
• Regulatory reporting experiences for Investment firm groups.
• Appropriate technical accounting and reporting qualifications gained in a professional services firm or in a series of relevant industry roles.
• Proven leadership skills acquired in roles building and developing specialist functional teams with broad and technical components.
• Ability to communicate complex matters to a range of audiences including senior executives, board members and shareholders.
• Deep knowledge of core finance systems and General Ledger systems and structures including reporting tools and applications.
• Ability to lead, motivate, inspire team to contribute fully to the wider leadership of the Finance Function and the wider Nucleus Group.
• Relevant qualifications: Chartered Accountant or Certified Accountant with continuous professional development record demonstrating learning ability and commitment to professional standards.

• Working flexibly with some time required at the office
• Leading and developing teams who work flexibly and in multiple locations
• Travelling when and where required to Nucleus business locations to fulfil your responsibilities.
