This role will require the successful candidate to attend meetings in our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices once every 2 weeks.

As part of a small, agile testing team, you will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and our external vendor to fully understand the scope of change, associated risks, and their impact on test coverage. You will be responsible for translating complex business rules and operational processes into clear and comprehensive test cases, ensuring thorough validation of both front-end web clients and back-office applications.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in test analysis, preparation, and execution, particularly within the financial services sector or a related domain. Your expertise will help shape a robust testing strategy that supports successful delivery of this high-profile transformation project. You will actively seek out new ways to do things and constantly be looking to improve the way we work. Your own learning will be a key motivator for you, and will be able to shape this role based on your own knowledge, experience, and tenacity. You will have a passion for exploring new technologies and utilise your findings to create value in the test space.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding the scope of change on projects or platforms, assessing associated risks, and determining their impact on test coverage.
  • Translating business rules and operations into comprehensive test cases.
  • Utilizing exploratory testing methods to identify potential issues and enhance the overall testing process.
  • Executing test cases with precision, utilizing both manual expertise and innovative automated tools where applicable.
  • Meticulously identifying, documenting, and retesting software defects, collaborating seamlessly with developers to implement and verify fixes while ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of progress and results.
  • Helping the Test Lead in assisting, documenting the testing progress and ensuring the fulfilment of test exit criteria.
  • Actively seeking new methodologies to enhance testing processes and continuously improve team workflows.

  • Proficiency in designing, executing, and maintaining test cases.
  • Familiarity with exploratory testing methodologies.
  • The ability to work independently on projects, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
  • Experience in platform or project model office testing, or any user testing, would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with the Wrap platform, particularly Sonata or FnZ, is advantageous.
  • Experience of test automation to support development of web, back-office applications and services would be desirable but isn’t a deal breaker.
