This role is responsible for providing advice and guidance on escalated, complex or sensitive ER cases, proactively managing them to completion in line with Company policy and current employment law. The Senior ER Adviser provides oversight, coaching and advice to the ER Adviser and wider People team where required. They will collaborate on the design and the delivery of toolkits and process training to develop the ER capability of people leaders and the People team, establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, and increase ER visibility and awareness throughout the wider business.
This role will collaborate in the review, re‐design and ongoing maintenance of the Employee Relations and People Coordination process suite, focussing on delivering excellent employee experience through efficient ways of working. They will be responsible for the accurate collation and interpretation of ER data, working with the Senior Employee Relations Partner and People Partners to advise on and monitor appropriate actions plans as a result.
A broad and current knowledge of employment law practices is key, as well as the ability to communicate complex information in an understandable and succinct way. The Senior ER Adviser will balance best practice with the need to support sound business decisions, ensuring all implications are considered whilst influencing and supporting managers on a specific course of action.
Key Accountabilities- Provide ER support, advice and proactive management to the wider business, particularly with complex, sensitive or escalated cases
- Provide oversight, coaching and advice to the ER Adviser and wider People team/business where required
- Lead on the creation, maintenance and distribution of People Leader Toolkits, aligned to processes and policies
- Lead on the design and delivery of people leader ER process training
- Collaborate in ensuring all ER/Coordination processes are documented and maintained in line with the company controls framework and policies
- Collaborate with the People Systems and MI Manager on establishing automation for ER processes and data
- Regularly review and interpret ER data for trends or issues, creating action recommendations as a result
- Collect and provide ER data to Senior Employee Relations Partner for monthly Board report
- Support in the maintenance of People policies and associated documents and timely updates in line with employment legislation changes
- Support with processing of Data Subject Access Requests as required
- Support with the processing and maintenance of Visa Sponsorship licence and related queries and cases
- Support in producing data for Conduct Rules and non-financial misconduct submissions and any other compliance or audit requirements
- Ensure ongoing compliance of GDPR/Data Collection disposal within ER
- Readily engage with conflict resolution options such as escalating requests for mediation support effectively
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of changing ER legislation, sharing and communicating changes with the wider team and business
- Provide support to ad hoc People projects and tasks as required
- Support with ad hoc people related projects to drive improved engagement across the business where possible
