The Finance Analyst will support the Finance Manager in delivering high-quality financial and management reporting, with a particular focus on revenue and customer-related financial activity. The role sits within the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team and will provide strong exposure to revenue reporting, controls, and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Support the production of monthly management accounts, with a primary focus on revenue reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory expectations.
- Collate, validate and interrogate financial data received from internal and external sources to ensure completeness and reliability of financial information.
- Prepare, review and post accounting journals, including revenue, intercompany and recharge entries, ensuring appropriate documentation and reconciliation.
- Support the processing, recording and reconciliation of customer related financial transactions, ensuring strong adherence to internal controls, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform monthly revenue (and associated balance sheet) reconciliations investigating variances and resolving variances in a timely and well documented manner.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations ensuring timely clearance of reconciling items.
- Review elements of the monthly financial results and provide clear, insightful commentary on financial performance, trend analysis and key movements to support decision making.
- Identify opportunities to improve in financial and revenue reporting processes, including the use of automation and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy and control.
- Assist in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of robust controls to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information.
- Support internal and external audit activities by responding to queries and providing clear, accurate and well evidenced information relating to financial and revenue reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across reporting processes and systems supporting best practice.
- Participation in Working Groups and cross functional as required.
- Achieving KPI’s/Targets.
- Delivery of revenue and financial reporting to agreed timeliness, completeness and accuracy measures.
- Provision of meaningful insight to internal and external stakeholders on financial and revenue performance.
- Effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ongoing development and maintenance of appropriate technical and professional skills.
- Successful delivery of ad hoc tasks/projects as required.
About you
- Previous experience in Financial Services (preferred but not essential).
- Part qualified in CIMA or CA beneficial.
- Experience in financial and/or management reporting.
- Strong Excel skills with experience working with large and complex data sets.
- Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at different levels.
You will be comfortable working flexibly with some time required at the office and travelling when and where required to Nucleus business locations to fulfil your responsibilities.
